Five things we'd do to improve our music video:
- We would re-shoot our night filming as the lighting was poor and subsequently had to be colour corrected in the editing which lead to the shots looking unnaturally bright
- Secondly at 0:37 - 0:39 where the band is staring I'd than add a shot of what the band are actually looking at as the viewer is unaware and this is a bit confusing to them.
- I would of filmed more footage to be able to fit in more cuts. In the video there is much more fewer cuts than what you see in an official music video
- The Costume change would be done in a better setting compared to the slightly cramped area we filmed in. This would of made the effect more noticeable to the viewer.
- Have more shots of the transformation of 'Nerd' to 'Cool' this is quite a big part in the music video and it would be good if we focused on it more and it would also make it more clear to the viewer.
How we would use additional night filming time
Firstly I'd use proper filming lights supplied by Long Road. The problem with the car lights was they weren't bright enough and only lite us up from the front. This lead to us having to colour correct in the editing. In addition to this i would film it when there was still a little be of light still out. When we filmed it was pitch black out so wasn't the best condition and we did struggle with the conditions a little bit. In this time we'd shoot the ending to our music video as there currently isn't an ending. The ending is us arriving to the party and we would ensure that the viewers saw us getting there in the dark and going through the house door.
