Mise-En-Scene

We looked at the typical mise-en-scene of the rock/pop genre. We will try and incorporate our findings from the research into our music video to give it a more professional edge.

Colour - The colour used in rock/pop music videos tend to be quite bright and uplifting for the viewers. the colour matches the tempo of the songs which in this genre, are mostly high-tempo, upbeat music.

Costume - The clothes worn by the artists in this genre are very up to date with the latest fashion of that time period.

Lighting - The lighting, like the colour, is always bright and loud, as to match the song pace and pitch.

Props - The props used in these music videos tend to be instruments which they play e.g. focus on the guitarist. Also, if there is a prop that can match the lyrics, there will be.

Setting - The setting in these videos tends to be quite public areas; places where everyone has access to. if the song is intended for a younger audience, the video is usually shot in daylight where as in a video aimed at a slightly older audience, filming at night time is often used.

Make Up - There is not much to say about make up in rock/pop videos. It is worn by the female artists to enhance their appearance and attractiveness to viewers.
